Brand Highlight: Raon Kitchen

Here at Grace in the Kitchen, we are committed to featuring as many amazing, small Canadian businesses as possible. To highlight these companies, and let you know exactly who you are supporting by buying them, we will be posting brand features here on our website! This will give a bit of background on the brand, letting you know why we fell in love with them, and also highlight some of our favourite products form their line! In this post, we are featuring Raon Kitchen!

A local-Ottawa favourite, Raon Kitchen makes incredible, authentic Korean food. We have brought in their cabbage kimchis and marinades into our fridges, and they have quickly become a staff favourite.

How is kimchi made?

At Raon Kitchen, the process for making kimchi starts with choosing the perfect vegetables. Then, these are trimmed down and put into an organic salt brine. It is then washed and mixed with all the other ingredients, before being left to ferment for a few phases. The final product is a delicious, sour, spicy and crunchy treat, perfect for adding to bipimbap, making kimchi-jjigae or kimchi fried rice, or even just on its own as a snack! This stuff is seriously addictive...

Did you know?

Kimchi is actually really good for you! Due to the fermentation process, kimchi is loaded with healthy bacteria (similar to yogurt or sauerkraut). This makes kimchi really good for gut, helping with digestion, gut health and boosting your immune system. It is also loaded with vitamins like A, B and C!

In A Nutshell, Raon Kitchen's Kimchi:
