Created using all the typical flavours of a Pot of Louisiana Gumbo! Pairs well with both white and aged spirits. Try it in soups and stews for an extra hit of flavour!

TRY THIS!

  • ​1 whole chicken
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tbsp El Guapo Gumbo Bitters
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • salt & pepper to taste
 
GUMBO BAKED CHICKEN
​Preheat oven to 425. Rub the bitters over the skin and in the cavity of the chicken. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika. Stuff the onion and the thyme in the cavity and tie up the legs and tuck the wings under the bird. Place on a rack over a pan to catch the drippings. Place in the oven and turn the temperature down to 350. Cook until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 165.  Deglaze the pan with a little stock and white wine if you want a superb gravy.
